Today, almost everyone has access to a camera, but most users only leverage a fraction of its potential. Our goal is to change this. The Photo Guide starts off with the basics of photography and goes into great detail to help you improve your skills to finally make better photos.

We built the Photo Guide for seasoned photography enthusiasts, as well as for total beginners.

We dedicated an entire category to everyone who is just getting started with photography. The topics are result-oriented, practical, and deliberately avoid unnecessary technical terms.

Great image composition is a key element of great photography. The Photo Guide covers a huge range of interesting aspects.

See how specific photos were taken. Which shutter speed, aperture, etc. was chosen and why, which lighting is best and much more!

Learn about the different kinds of cameras, lenses, lens filters and much more, to make informed decisions what should be part of your gear.

The cameras in our mobile devices are extremely capable. It’s time to take these amazing cameras seriously. This category teaches everything about iPhone & iPad photography.

Practical tips and tricks for when you’re out capturing your next great photographs.

You can only master photography if you fully understand what’s happening behind the scenes, when you press the shutter button of your camera.

You already know everything about photography? Check out the quiz and find out if theres stuff you didnt know.

Oh no, whats “Hyper-focal distance". Several hundred glossary entries will help you. Photography is not rocket science but so much fun!

Informative und interesante App!Top!Danke
Thanks!
Perfect photo guide for novice and amateur photographers. A lot of tips and advices.
Poor translation
Overall a good app with helpful hints and good explanations of photo technique. The translation from German is often awkward, however, and frequently inaccurate. The quiz section still has explanations in German, not translated. Moreover, many of the questions are unclear due to the awkward translation and most of the answers are frankly wrong. This would be a four or five star app if the translation were reworked by someone whose native language is English, the explanations in the quiz translated, and the quiz answers corrected.
Great quick-reference on photo terms and tips.
This app is a great reference for non-photographers to understand various photography concepts. Not only is there a comprehensive glossary of terms, but there are topical areas to explore for both complex (D/SLR) and simpler cameras. Bonus is a section on iPhone-specific photography, and how to get the most from the iPhone camera. For folks new to photography, this app is recommended to illustrate concepts. Theres even a section on example setups for taking different types of pictures with D/SLR cameras. For folks a bit more experienced with photography, the glossary is a great way to look things up you may have forgotten, and the included quick ensures youre on your game when it comes to photography terms.
